Arles Amphitheatre
The Arles Amphitheatre (Les Arènes d'Arles) is one of France's most emblematic and best-preserved Roman monuments. Built around 90 AD, this ancient arena could accommodate up to 20,000 spectators and was used for gladiatorial combat, animal fighting and other public spectacles. Today, it still hosts events such as bullfights, concerts and performances, making it a living testimony to Arles' rich Roman heritage. It is also part of the Roman and Romanesque Monuments of Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it a must-see for all visitors to the city.
